What is HEIC?
Apple's image format since iOS 11, uses HEVC compression, 50% smaller than JPG at same quality. Not universally supported on Windows/Android/web.
Why convert HEIC to JPG?
Compatibility (email, social media, Windows), editing (most editors expect JPG), sharing (universal format). JPG is supported everywhere.
Convert HEIC in your browser
ToolPouch converts HEIC to JPG directly in your browser. Works on Chrome (via WebCodecs hardware decoder) and Safari (native support). Drop your .heic file, choose quality, download JPG. No upload to any server.
Batch conversion
Convert up to 100 HEIC photos at once. Adjust quality once, apply to all files, download as ZIP.
HEIC vs JPG quality
HEIC at the same visual quality produces files roughly half the size of JPG. When converting to JPG, quality 85 preserves nearly all visible detail. Lower quality (70-80) is fine for web sharing.
Keep or strip metadata
HEIC photos from iPhone contain EXIF data (location, camera settings, date). The conversion process strips this metadata. Use the EXIF Viewer tool to check what data your photos contain before sharing.
